Applications are called from qualified Sri Lankan citizens fulfilling the qualifications mentioned to fill up vacancies in the post of Physio Therapist under the category of Supplementary Professional Services for medical practitioners at the Institute of Sports Medicine under the purview of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

• Should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in one sitting in six subjects with 04 credit passes, including Sinhala/Tamil, Mathematics, Science, and passed the subject English at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in not more than two sittings.

And

• Should have passed G.C.E (A/L) in two subjects at one sitting out of subjects of Combined Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Agriculture Science, with a credit pass for Physics subject at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.

And

• Registration as a Physio Therapist at the Sri Lanka Medical Council by following a two-year full-time Physio Therapy Diploma, which is conducted by the Ministry of Health.

Or

• Should have obtained a Physio Therapeutic Degree from a university that is recognized by the University Grants Commission or from an institution recognized by the University Grants Commission as a degree-awarding institution

And

• Registration as a Physio Therapist at the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
• Experience will not be applicable. 

Method of Recruitment:

Recruitment will be made in accordance with existing vacancies and based on the highest marks and basic qualifications accrued and on marks scored at the structured interview conducted by a panel of interviewers on a merit basis.

Nature of Recruitment:

Permanent with pension (subject to policy decisions taken by the government regarding the pension scheme)

Remuneration: 

Rs. 54,120-10×800-11 × 1190-10x1320-10 × 1350 Rs. 101,910/- (as per Public Administration Circular No 10/2025)

Age Limit:

Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years at the last date of acceptance of applications.

General Conditions:

• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
• Applicants should be of a good moral character and of good physical fitness.
• Candidates who have submitted complete applications in all aspects are only invited for an interview.
• The date of the degree or diploma in force should be a date after the deadline of the application.
• Applicants should have fulfilled all the qualifications on the date of calling for applications.

Method of Application:

• The application should be prepared using A4-size paper and in accordance with the attached form (numbers 1 to 10 on the first page and numbers 11 to 13 on the second page).

• Signature of applicant should be authenticated by a principal / Justice of Peace / Commissioner of Oaths/Attorney-at-Law/a Commissioned Officer of Tri-Forces/a Gazetted Officer of Police Service/ Public Service Officer, or Provincial Public Service Officer drawing a consolidated annual salary of Rs. 703,920/- or more than that.
