Job Role:

• Develop an expert understanding of all aspects of quality assurance, including the scientific underpinnings of laboratory tests, current processing technologies, and evolving industry standards.
• Execute comprehensive testing protocols spanning chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological assessments in line with our strategic quality plan.
• Lead rigorous inspection and evaluation processes across production operations to ensure strict adherence to quality, environmental, and food safety benchmarks.
• Champion the maintenance and organization of laboratory systems, managing a meticulous log of equipment, chemicals, glassware, and reference samples.
• Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to analyze consumer feedback and sensory data, driving forward initiatives that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Engage in detailed competitive analysis to foster innovation and refinement of existing products, keeping pace with market shifts and consumer preferences.
• Direct critical problem-solving efforts, identifying root causes of non-conformances, designing effective corrective actions, and overseeing their robust implementation.
• Uphold and advocate for exceptional hygienic practices within the factory and laboratory environments to meet our stringent Company goals.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing, ensuring comprehensive quality analysis.
• Lead sustainability efforts by identifying and implementing strategies to minimize waste production both in the laboratory and on the factory floor.
• Facilitate and enrich staff training programs focused on enhancing expertise in quality assurance and food safety awareness across the organization.
• Proactively communicate with management regarding any practices that may impact quality, safety, or environmental compliance.
• Oversee the application and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System, adhering to all SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Passionate about Sri Lanka; you're committed to making a positive impact for our Country and its people.
• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Bio Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within the food or beverage processing industry, preferred dairy experience or
• 5 years' experience in a related role/industry along with a Higher National Diploma/related educational qualification.
• Well-versed in Quality Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Product Safety.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficient in handling relevant QA software tools.
• Skilled in microbiological analysis and sensory evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet objectives and ensure product quality and safety.
• Excellent team player with a capability to collaborate across departments to achieve quality standards.
