Systems Engineer – Lake House Colombo

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), widely known as Lake House, is the home and heart of print media in Sri Lanka. Lake House is looking for talented and dynamic individuals who possess the following qualifications and requirements to fill the above vacancy.

Educational Qualifications:

• B.Sc Engineering Degree in Computer Science from a recognized University

      OR

• B.Sc Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology from a recognized University with 3 years post qualifying experience in Systems Maintenance, Database Administration and Network Administration 

      OR

• B.Sc Degree from a recognized University with 7 years post qualifying experience in System Administration, Database Administration 
• Network Administration Certificate in Database Administration or System/ Network Administration/ Computer Security would be an added advantage

Responsibilities: 

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure Install, 
• configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools 
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, 
• identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes 
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• LAN/WAN, Database, MS Windows Server and Linux Systems Administration and troubleshooting 
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
