Trainee Banking Assistant – Regional Development Bank

Required Qualifications:

• Should have passed 6 subjects in G.C.E. Ordinary Level with at least 5 credit passes, including Mother Language (Sinhala/Tamil) and Mathematics in one sitting.

And

• Passed in G.C.E Advanced Level with 3 Passes in one sitting (excluding General English and General Knowledge). Having passed in General English and General Knowledge in G.C.E. (A/L), working knowledge on computer applications and in a second language will be considered as added qualifications.
• Preference would be given at the interview for those who have actively participated and engaged in rural community activities.
• Possessing a valid driving license is regarded as an additional qualification.

Method of Application:

• Applications must be submitted online through the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka website at www. doenets.lk. Applicants must access the "Our Services" section and select "Online Applications - Recruitment Exams/ E.B. Exams." The online application process will be opened from May 19, 2025, at 9:00 am and will be closed on June 19, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.
• The Online Examination Application Form must be completed in English only. Once the online application is successfully submitted, the Department of Examinations will notify applicants via a short message (SMS) to the mobile number used during registration or through the email address provided regarding the acceptance or rejection of the application.
• Download the instructions document for applying for the examination before completing the online application form. Strictly follow the instructions while filling out the application form. Incomplete applications will be rejected without any notice.

Age:

• Not less than 18 years and not more than 24 years at the closing date of the applications. (Therefore, only those born between May 18, 2001 and May 18, 2007 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.)

Remuneration:

• A fixed monthly allowance of Rs.55, 000/- during the first year of training and Rs.70,000/- during the second year will be paid. Those who complete the training period of two years successfully will be absorbed into the Banking Assistant Grade. 5-I and placed on the initial salary stage of the salary scale of Rs. 64,025 - 400x20 - 72,025/· per month. In addition, other benefits of the bank are also entitled. 

Selection Procedure:

• The knowledge of qualified candidates will be tested by a written competitive examination and an interview. 
• Written examination, which will comprise the following subjects/papers and will be held only in Sinhala, Tamil and English medium. 
• Candidates shall not be permitted to change the selected language medium of the examination.
