Electrical And Electronic Engineer – Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Colombo 09

Job Description:

Recruitment of Engineers on Contract Basis for the Tanks Development Project at the Trincomalee Tank Farm Complex belonging to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. 

Applications are invited from citizens of Sri Lanka to be considered for the Electrical & Electronics Engineer Post.

Required Qualifications for the above posts:

• BSc Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering obtained from a University accepted by the University Grant commission and post qualified experience of 03 years as an Engineer worked in development projects at recognized organizations. 
• Possessing Chartered /Postgraduate /Professional Qualification (such as PMP or any other certifications relevant to Electrical / Electronics Engineering) will be an added qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan, design, and oversee installation of electrical systems, control panels, power distribution, instrumentation, SCADA, PLC etc. for tank farm operations. 
2. Supervise on-site electrical and instrumentation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols. 
3. Study/Generate/Modify/Verify the Engineering Drawings related to the Electrical/ instrument works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm. 
4. Inspect, test, and commission electrical installations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality control throughout the project. 
5. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to optimize project workflows and timelines. 
6. Ensure adherence to safety regulations (e.g., NFPA, IEC, NEC, IEE etc.) and oversee safe operation of electrical equipment. 
7. Prepare documentation, including installation logs, test reports, and daily progress updates. 
8. Coordinate with subcontractors, monitor their adherence to design specifications, and ensure quality control. 
9. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to project plans. 
10. Collaborate closely with the process, civil and mechanical engineering teams to integrate instrumental and electrical requirements with piping, electrical, and storage requirements. 
11. Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and risk mitigation strategies. 
12. Ensure that all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as project-specific safety and environmental guidelines. 
13. Develop and implement safety protocols for all electrical works, minimizing risks associated with excavation, heavy equipment use, and hazardous material handling. 
14. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential construction hazards. 
15. Performing/involving in any other related duties entrusted by the PMU and the Higher Management when and where necessary. 

Salary Scale:

• Rs 185,895.00 + Cost of Living Rs. 10,000 + Rs.5,250 + Professional Allowance as 10% of the Basic Salary

Age Limit: 

• Should not be more than 30 years of age as at closing date of applications

Service condition:

• Contract Basis for 01 Year

General:

• The Project will contribute 12% of the salary towards the EPF, whilst the employee will have to contribute 08%. 
• The Corporation will also contribute 3% of the salary towards the ETF. 
• Note:- This contractual appointment will not entitle or legally bind any permanent appointment in the Corporation.
