The Job

• Deciding and implementing relevant summary levels based on business requirements to execute business trends/growth analysis and actionable insights on predictions.
• Find capabilities of data wrangling solutions – Designing for business users to explore and prepare diverse data themselves for a variety of downstream uses.
• Mange hive and Impala databases with sound scripting abilities to provide detail level DWH from Hadoop system with set of tools and utilities (Hive /Impala/ PIG/Kafka / etc.)
• Should maintain agreed data availability level by executing ETL (Extract /transformation/ Load) functions daily and monthly maintaining the agreed SLAs.
• Analyzing report/analysis requirements from business units and apply DataMart design changes on existing models to increase accuracy of reporting to action strong business insights.
• Planning and Maintain Daily/Monthly ETL monitoring and troubleshooting processes. Review ETL process event logs and reports with failures and troubleshooting event logs to improve quality and accuracy.
• Applying Machine learning algorithms on large data sets, available on DWH (Hadoop) systems and find out gaps and structural problem.
• R&D on advanced statistical and predictive modelling techniques on multiple real-time decision systems. R&D on data science methodologies/machine learning algorithms and deep learning algorithms to find out/implement and present best fits for DWH data sets.
• Administrating & managing access controls of business intelligence tools, tableau and MSBI.
• Maintain proper and up to date assessment criteria, vulnerability scans, patch upgrade and solutions planning, risk registry updates and SI support plan for security vulnerabilities.
• SQL/PL SQL scripting on Oracle RDBMS system to handle both ETLs and Database management and Hadoop (hive, impala and PIG) scripting on ETLs and Unix Schell scripting on OS level administrating.
• Creating and managing DB and OS level alerts and reviewing action logs and make relevant decisions to improve performances of DWH and ETLs.
• Responsible for performing monthly/quarterly performance analysis to identify the progresses/ bottlenecks, issues and new resources requirements.
• Manage time to time knowledge sharing sessions for subordinates among team members as well as domain expertise.

 
The Person

• Bachelor's degree in IT / Mathematics / Statistics from a recognized university
• 5+ years hands-on experience in Data Engineering (ETL/BI/DWH/Hadoop)
• 2+ years knowledge in SQL scripting / Database administrating / ETLs /Dimensional modelling SQL Scripting / Database Administrating (or equivalent)
• 1+ year experience in Data Modelling, Mining or Data Quality
• Knowledge in Big data management / Hadoop distributed system and related environment (hive/impala/pig/scoop/flume/oozie). Hadoop Related certifications.
• Statistical /Mathematics data modelling skills /knowledge on statistical algorithms and hypotheses testing knowledge
• Knowledge in Linux/Unix shell scripting / python scripting / R scripting
• Understanding of Business Intelligence / Predictions models and business insights
• Knowledge on Cloud based technologies (Redshift/EMR/BigQuery)
• Linux Unix Certifications (Red hat certified Engineer or system administrator or equivalent)
• Business intelligence related certifications / DWH related certifications / Database management related certifications
