Job Description

IFS Sustainability strategy is focused on excellence in our own business, supporting our customers to meet their sustainability goals, and achieving broader positive impact in the communities we operate in.

The Sustainability intern’s role will support delivery of this strategy, working to integrate sustainable practices and drive progress against our environmental and social goals. The role will sit within our central sustainability team but is expected to work across functions in collaboration with our network of sustainability business partners. The focus of this role is the smooth delivery of sustainability projects and will include some specific regular tasks but also has ad hoc tasks.

We are looking for candidates that are enthusiastic, resilient, self-motivated and thrive working within an international organisation.

Successful candidates will be located in Sri Lanka.

Tasks will include but not be limited to:

Support the implementation of IFS sustainability strategy through involvement in specific projects and tracking measures of success.
Support accurate data collation for environmental, social and governance (ESG) data, such as carbon accounting, and prepare internal reports as required.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, and partners, to deliver sustainability initiatives.
Work with Marketing and Comms to improve sustainability awareness through internal and external posts, blogs, case studies and infographics.
Respond to queries from stakeholders on sustainability, maintaining an updated standard response to common questions.
Work with legal and compliance teams to assess and mitigate risks related to sustainability.
Consult with ESG Product to support development of sustainability-related IFS solutions.
Support IFS sustainability business partners though development of materials, briefing packs and a consistent, productive dialogue.
Monitor best practice and trends in sustainability, and support on benchmarking exercises such as EcoVadis.
Actively suggest improvements to processes or policies, including stakeholder management, sustainability communications and our bid response process

Qualifications

Requirements

Strong desire to pursue and develop a career in Sustainability.
Experience of using MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. as well as being technically confident and curious to expand knowledge.
A team player, willing and able to support fellow team members.
Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Be self-motivated and have a proactive mindset.
Great attention to detail with exceptional accuracy skills.
Ability to multitask and rise to the challenge of large volumes of work during peak periods of activity and the ability to deal with conflicting priorities.
