Deputy General Manager - Financial Accounting ( Nawala)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active Trading Center team as a Deputy General Manager – Financial Accounting! This role would enable you to lead the Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Internal Audit, Taxation, Purchasing and Travel functions of the division by providing business insights, advising and implementing the strategic and operational plans order to drive short- and long-term shareholder value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Formulation
1. Actively contribute towards Active Division’s strategy formulations
2. Actively drive strategic initiatives under the Financial Accountings purview in order to drive the organizations’ objective.
- People Development
1. Grooming and mentoring the team to achieve career progression in their sphere of work.
2. Guide the team to embrace the MAS DNA
3. Creates engagement by motivating & encouraging individuals to set goals which are aligned to SBU/ division needs.
- Budgeting
1. Closely work with the Heads of Department to formulate the annual overhead budget whilst optimizing the available resources 2. Any abnormalities that occur whilst following up the performance to be resolved to bring about savings to the Division.
- Governance and Internal audits
1. Collaborate with Group risk and control to identify solutions for division specific requirements and Group wide requirements.
2. Implementation of Group risk and control, governance policy framework.
- Lead Operational Excellence in Financial Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Travel, Internal Audits and Taxation to achieve the organizational objectives.
- Work with professional bodies such as CA, CIMA, ACCA, IATA to incorporate industry best practices.
- Work collaboratively and cohesively with other divisions in order to maximize on the MAS Eco system.
- Liase with external auditors to complete the interim and annual audit as per the given Group guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience – 3 to 4 years of experience in a Managerial Finance capacity.
- Have led the Management accounting, business controlling or financial accounting functions.
- Sound knowledge of SAP Sound knowledge of the business process.
- Good Communication and influencing skills.
