FCR Operations within Digital Business Services provides end to end Compliance Operations support to the various countries across various regions. The knowledge of the regions and countries regulations and market conditions is essential in delivery of the role.
The department is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and monitoring Customer/Account and/or Party/Pattern cases which have triggered as a result of threshold violations in CAMP or UCM. If the activity is deemed unusual and there is a risk that the account is potentially being used to launder criminal funds and/or finance terrorism, the investigation details are forwarded to in country Investigative Reporting for final decision around STR disclosure and/or customer exit recommendation.
 
The Opportunity:
This role leads the site TM Operations with support from AVPOs, Managers, AMOs and operational specialists. Responsible to implement effective controls to ensure adherence to procedures & other Business specific regulations. Lead & Manage On-going process improvement initiatives to drive performance on quality, efficiency, cost, and risk-related targets. Key part of role is to ensure productivity of team and management of workload, escalating issues and working with the Head of Transaction Monitoring and other Business Support functions.
 
What you’ll do:
 
Impact on the Business

  • Drive service excellence through operational oversight of site TM Ops teams and deliver quality, risk, people and financial performance targets
  • As a site lead, represent TM Ops in all Regional and Global governance forums.
  • Maintain strong operational and process management disciplines with in the offshore business teams to ensure consistency in meeting / exceeding the agreed service standards.
  • Identify re-engineering and alignment processes and implement to introduce controls across processes/ systems to improve efficiency, in turn reducing cycle time and improve consistency / quality globally.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • To continually reassess the operational risks inherent in the business taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology
  • To maintain HSBC internal and external control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Establish an effective alert management governance forum in coordination with the onshore teams to proactively manage system outages, changes to parameters, market initiatives and seasonal fluctuations

Typical KPIs and Targets: Operational Control – No High Risk or Repeat Findings/ Esac Timely & Accurate Completion for team and self/ Audit Reports
  
Customers / Stakeholders

  • Proactively engage with Lines of Business, DBS leadership team, Change Delivery and other stakeholders in Global Functions to ensure that goals of in-country Banking Operations teams are aligned to Business strategy and demand
  • Implement a robust Relationship Management Model for the designated Region / Country with the Regional Head and all partner GSC sites.
  • Support the Relationship Management Model for other regions within the remit of the GSC TM Operations
  • Building greater efficiency through higher accuracy of service delivery such that % increase in volume can be managed with lower % increases in resources.
  • Work with other Site Heads of TM Ops to influence the culture within their business in order to put the customer and regulators at the center of their business and implement business strategies.

 Leadership & Teamwork

  • Participate, contribute and help implement all aspects of Projects, Process, Process Improvements (whether Strategic, Technology or those arising locally).
  • Act as a point of escalation for any complaints, giving advice and consultation as to how to work through the issue at hand and resolve the complaint in an acceptable way.
  • To lead and motivate staff with widely differing aspirations.
  • Help the head of TM Ops implement the TOM for TM Actively contribute to any projects within TM Ops, lead any TM Ops project that have been assigned by the head of TM Ops that will strategic align the business service to regulatory requirements.

 
 
Major Challenges

  • Achieve site operating plan.
  • Demonstrate strong ethic of cost management. Generate Income/Reduce Expenses in conjunction with Business Partners.
  • Support initiative designed at site/TM Operations level to achieve AOP profit targets.

 
 Role Context

  • Critical to exhibit teamwork with other sites to permit a seamless handling of quality activity in the eyes of business partners
  • Responsible to implement effective controls to ensure adherence to procedures & other Business specific regulations.
  • To Identify, help design and Implement & On-going process improvement initiatives to drive performance on quality, efficiency, cost, and risk-related targets.

  
Management of Risk

  • All processes should have completed the MSII (Management Self-Identified Issues) activity and the same is shared with the site risk teams and BPs.
  • No unsatisfactory audits or high risk or repeat findings.
  • No Compliance and Regulatory Breaches. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

  • Ensure the agreed PLA signed with business area are achieved and work with business partners to achieve continuous improvement in business as usual processes.

  • Should be able to leverage the team’s capabilities & domain knowledge.

 
 What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Graduate in any discipline with strong academic background
  • Overall 10 years of Operations management experience.
  • Proven ability to prioritize in challenging situations and competing demands.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience with a proven track record in a service company type model.
  • Able to deal with and constructively resolve conflicting views and where necessary, escalate to senior management in a clear and succinct manner.
  • Well-developed negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Able to understand, consolidate diverse and complex business information and identify / mitigate risk issues

 
What additional skills will be good to have?

  • ·       ACAMs or any Anti Money Laundering related professional qualification
