One of our clients, a leading Insurance company, is seeking a Legal Manager to join their reputable company. In this role, you will be responsible for :
Responsibilities
- Oversight and management of litigation and other dispute resolution procedures – Liaising with the relevant stakeholders and preparation of the defense for the Company, assessing the probable outcome and recommendations on settlements, managing negotiations
- Act as a business partner where any department can access legal advice on any matter including but not limited to customer queries, claims, and relationships with third parties.
- Liaising with agreement initiators and understanding the business need for the contract and drafting and or reviewing drafts ensuring that the interests of the Company are safeguarded while facilitating the business need.
- Responsible for maintaining the litigation register and other departmental registers and records and providing relevant management information as and when required.
- Supporting the business in other related areas such as Police inquiries, and other statutory or nonstatutory inquiry forums: Liaising with relevant departments to find out the facts about any inquiry and prepare the relevant documents.
Requirements
- Notary license to practice in English and Colombo with experience in formalities in lease agreements and document registrations.
- Attorney-at-Law
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the corporate sector (preferably in insurance and or financial services)
- A degree in law
- Masters will be an added advantage
- Knowledge and practice in secretarial practices will be an added advantage
