Telecommunication Officer – Telecommunications Regulatory Commission

Applications are invited from qualified candidates to fill the vacancies of the above post at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).

Job Description:

• Maintenance of measuring and testing equipment.  Conducting technical standards and compliance tests.  
• Attending to work on interference measurement, field strength and power measurements.  
• Conducting technical investigations and submission of reports.  Providing technical assistance for procurement of technical equipment and other related activities.  
• Assisting the management in executing the duties and functions of the TRCSL.

Required Minimum Educational/Vocational Qualifications & Experience:

• A Diploma or similar or a higher academic/vocational qualification, not below the NVQ level 5 or SLQF level 3 or NDT-Katubedda University or Equivalent Qualification in Electronics or Telecommunication, conferred either by a university recognized by the University Grants Commission or by an Institute of Technological Training recognized by the Commission. 

And 

• 03 Years of post-qualifying experience in the Telecommunication field. 

Recruitment Procedure:

• Through a written competitive examination followed by a structured interview. Appointments will be made purely on the order of merit obtained through the aggregated marks of the competitive examination and the structured interview. Subjects of the written examination are (I) Language Proficiency & Intelligence Test and (II) Subject Knowledge Relevant to the Post.

Salary Scale:

• TRC 5.2 -Rs. 62560 (10x1173) -(10x1564) -(10x1955) -(10x2346) – 132940. All new appointments to this post will be made to the initial step of the salary scale relevant to grade II of this Employment Category.  

Age Limit:

• 18-45 years by the closing date of applications.
