We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Sustainability & Compliance to join Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort, the much anticipated 1 billion USD project, opening in late 2024. Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort is a part of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Sri Lanka's largest Hotel owner with a portfolio of 15 Hotels and Resorts in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It is a member of John Keells Holdings PLC, one of the largest listed conglomerates in Sri Lanka.
Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Director, Sustainability & Compliance will control and coordinate the development of sustainability strategies in the resort, guiding our commitment to eco-friendly practices and upholding ethical and regulatory standards with finesse. You will be in charge of managing both new and existing projects while monitoring and logging the sustainable performance by using predetermined guidelines established by the Group.
As the Director, Sustainability and Compliance, you will leverage your analytical skills to identify environmental and community risks, while discovering improvement opportunities for added value and a competitive edge. You will provide quarterly and biannual analyses and recommendations to our company's management and the Group Sustainability division with the objective of not only minimizing our environmental impact but also enhancing sustainable business practices and processes. You will collaborate with the Executive Committee to implement sustainable practices across departments, ensuring our company's long-term success. Further, your responsibilities include designing and delivering programs to enhance stakeholder engagement and awareness while identifying benchmarks and monitoring our resort’s performance against global standards to stay at the forefront of sustainability. Additionally, you will stay informed about trends in the Leisure industry, developing initiatives to achieve sustainability benchmarks. You will lead a team dedicated to providing information and lessons on sustainability projects, helping Cinnamon Life offer an unparalleled service that benefits the conglomerate and other stakeholders.
