The Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka is the country's main agency for promoting and facilitating foreign direct investment (FDI). Established in 1978 as the Greater Colombo Economic Commission and later expanded under the BOI Law, it serves as a one-stop-shop for investors to navigate complex business setup procedures. The BOI is responsible for attracting both local and foreign investment, developing industrial zones, promoting export earnings, and generating employment opportunities.
