Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo is seeking candidate for Waiter/Waitress positions.
The Role
- Greet and seat guest and serve them in a professional, discreet and personalized way.
- To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- Present the menus according to the Hotel standards.
- Take orders and enter into the system.
- Ensure all the drinks are served in style, always use position numbers so that the guest is not disturbed unnecessarily.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of all menus, familiar with the ongoing promotions.
- An essential role is to observe your guests during their meal, and feel that they are satisfied with their experience.
- Responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in the outlet and upkeep of all service equipment.
- To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Perform all necessary tasks to service food & beverage according to the standard of performance manual of the hotel.
- Actively use up selling techniques to exceed guest expectations and increase revenue.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a star class hotel.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
