About HSBC - Global Service Centres
 
Our Global Service Centres are an integral part of Global Operations. Employees based there manage day-to-day customer transactions and processes for the global businesses. This may include transactions for our retail bank such as processing loans, credit cards, insurance and mortgage applications, opening new accounts, and managing customer enquiries through contact centres and digital platforms.
 
Employees in the Global Service Centres also run and manage operations for commercial bank customers. This includes processing credit applications, facilitating payments and managing the import and export transactions that enable customers to protect and grow their businesses through international trade
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager – Case Advisor (Global Career Band 6)
 
In this role:  
 
The Manager - Case Advisor to;
 

  • Be the single point of contact for the relevant Third Party Engagement Managers (TPEMs), building a strong collaborative relationship
  • Build an understanding of the engagement, the service and the risks associated with engagement categories
  • Proactively manage the end-to-end engagement with the TPEM, ensuring that risks are appropriately assessed and actions are completed in a timely manner
  • Validate the  engagements to ensure that it has been correctly classified and follows the correct Third Party Management (TPM) process, remediation of data issues
  • Support the TPEMs to collaboratively complete IRQ (Inherent Risk Questionnaire)
  • Perform independent Quality Check of the IRQ if completed separately by TPEM, ensuring that it has been completed to required standards
  • Support the TPEM with periodic updates to the IRQ if triggered
  • Completion of agreed control tasks triggered from the risk assessment on behalf of the TPEM
  • Coordinating engagement exit activities between TPEM, internal and external parties to ensure that engagements are exited compliantly to Third Party Risk (TPR) policy with minimal risk to HSBC.
  • Ensure that TPEMs and Business operate in line with the required frameworks, the prevailing regulatory and industry standards and HSBC’s Policies & FIMs
  • Advise and provide guidance to the TPEMs to ensure adherence to correct policies and processes
  • Proactively seek advice, where needed, from the TPM SME’s (Third Party Management Subject Matter Experts) or your team lead
  • Act as a trusted partner, ensuring the TPEMs feel supported and build trust and credibility in the Hub by acting with integrity and professionalism in day to day engagements
  • Escalate any issues in a timely manner to HUB Team Lead or Subject Matter expert

 
Leadership & Teamwork

  • Works collaboratively and communicates persuasively, emphasizing teamwork, diversity, and knowledge-sharing
  • Work with Case Advisor peers in all Hubs locations to ensure consistency and to promote a continuous improvement environment
  • Ensures that they have completed the appropriate training to be proficient in the role

 
What you will need to succeed in the role:
 
Others

  • Academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree, professional qualifications or demonstration of relevant industry experience
  • The HUB will support global businesses and functions in 60 plus countries, the ability to converse fluently in English
  • Experience of Centre’s of Excellence or Global Service Centers in the context of large global organizations

 
Functional Knowledge

  • Experience within a risk management role, preferably within third party management. Financial services experience or at a regulatory agency or major consulting firm is desirable
  • Strong relationship management experience
  • A good understanding and experience of the Global Businesses and Global Functions within a Bank.
  • A good understanding of the regulatory environment within the region and knowledge of third party risk
  • Demonstrable examples of team work and collaboration with internal and external customers
  • Attention to detail and proactive awareness of internal and external policies
  • Prior quality assurance or audit experience in the context of procurement or supplier relationships would be beneficial
  • Experience of managing simple projects to time and quality
  • Have excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills with peers, subordinates and suppliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and proficient in MS tools
  • A good understanding of 1 or more Risk Domains is desirable (providing support and guidance to business functions);
  • Resilience Risk (Buildings, Business Continuity, Information & Cyber, Physical Security, Transaction Processing)
  • People Risk,

  • Financial Crime and Fraud Risk (Anti-Bribery & Corruption), Anti Money Laundering, Sanctions, Internal Fraud)
