Summary
As a Quality Engineer- Performance for Wiley, you will help define and follow performance engineering processes, requirement gathering, create test plans, execute performance tests, and work closely with Wiley’s product development teams to troubleshoot and remediate performance issues. Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience using load testing and APM tools is necessary.
How you will make an impact:
- Collaborate with product management to define performance requirements.
- Take part in storyboarding and solution design sessions. Analyze and give feedback on artefacts delivered throughout the development process.
- Give estimates for performance test planning and execution.
- Create and maintain library of test plans, test suites and test scripts for performance testing.
- Maintain performance testing environment, create test bed of data used to support test execution.
- Track and record results of test execution. Interpret results and identify trends. Publish results and communicate test execution status.
- Use application performance monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks and analyze trends in production environments. Re-use that knowledge to improve product performance testing activities.
- Work closely with Operations teams to research and mitigate issues found in testing.
- Generate test summary reports for management review.
We are looking for people who have:
- A BSc in computer science or related field.
- 3-4 years’ experience in a quality engineering role.
- 2 years’ hands-on experience in using load testing tools and application performance monitoring tools.
- Hands-on experience with Linux OS.
- Ops/DevOps/support related experience will be an added benefit.
- Experience in JavaScript, Python, Groovy and shell scripting will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of performance testing methodologies and different types of testing.
- Experience designing performance tests for applications with complex integrations.
- Experience with Micro Focus LoadRunner, Performance Center, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, ELK stack and Prometheus preferred.
- Experience with JMeter / SoapUI and Gatling will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with MySQL.
- Prior experience working with Ops/DevOps teams to develop performance test plans and cases.
- Experience in Log analysis using elastic search and Kibana preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- ISTQB foundation level qualification will be an added advantage.
