Group Information Technology & Innovation Management: Product & Service Innovation
Responsible for coordinating the research and development activities carried out by the 5G Innovation Centres setup by the company at engineering universities. Is expected to bridge the customer and business requirement of the company with the R&D output of university labs to productize continuous stream of innovative streams products and concepts to in line with our “The Future Today” vision. Is expected to provide consultation and guidance to manage and maintain the overall 5G Innovation Centre program.
The Job
- Formulate frameworks, processes and required documentation to manage the 5G Innovation Centre program
- Work with research leads/engineers in grooming the R&D concepts by providing business and customer requirement insights to ensure the quality and relevance of the R&D concepts presented for management approval, as well as maximizing the chances of their approval
- Continuous engagement with the research team to ensure approved R&D projects are conducted aligned to agreed mission and vision.
- Effectively identifying, co-solving, escalating and resolving potential problems and blockers with the guidance of governance council
- Liaise with all stakeholders, including senior management, LAB governance council, research engineers and support/administration staff, ensuring the efficient operation of support functions
- Planning and conducting the community engagement events and technology events and roadshows to showcase the product, service, concept and technology created through the Labs
- Engage with potential new customers and internal stakeholders to develop the market potential for the latest products and services created via the R&D Labs.
- Carry out market research and new technology research and provide consultation to ensure that the portfolio of research activities undertaken by the Laboratories are current and future relevant
- Manage and provide consultation to maintain a first-rate Innovation Program benchmarking international Innovation Centres/Incubation Programs
- Inculcate agile working culture into the R&D Lab program by effectively adopting agile practices and tools
The Person
- The candidate should possess a Degree in IT/ICT/Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
- Previous international level domain expertise
- MBA degree or Project Management Professional Qualifications would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the willingness to negotiate and persuade peers and superiors alike.
- A keen follower of emerging technologies, trends backed by business acumen with all-round knowledge technology stacks, software and hardware.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and strong communication, business and analytical skills.
- Previous experience in idea incubation, conducting ideation sessions, makeathon/hackathons and competitions
- Exposure to design thinking and product prototyping would be desirable.
