Description of the role
The project manager will be responsible for streamlining processes in the project life cycle and monitoring task allocation. The role holder will also track project milestones and ensure successful delivery of projects as per the defined project management methodology.
Main responsibilities
- Conduct discussions with business users and the Enterprise Applications team to understand and gather requirements.
- Prepare the project plan outlining scope, deliverables, required resources, timelines, project schedule, and establish standards and guidelines.
- Develop the annual budget for enhancements and new developments in consultation with the functions, and detail resources, technologies, and administrative costs.
- Support the Application Delivery Lead to determine if external vendors will be required to complete the project, based on nature, size of the requirement, vendor capabilities, and evaluate vendors.
- Accurately communicate requirements to the vendors, estimate the efforts required from vendors for enhancements, negotiate and finalize efforts with the vendors.
- Prepare resource allocation plans and review them regularly and make necessary changes based on project criticality.
- Ensure that projects adhere to approved budgets, periodically review budgets, and make necessary revisions during contingencies.
- Oversee enhancements at various phases of the project: requirement gathering, development, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, and follow-up with respective work teams for updates.
- Prioritize the enhancements and CRs based on ROI, criticality, and effort estimates in collaboration with the business teams.
- Actively participate in project meetings, communicate the project deviations to respective teams, and discuss corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the team when making changes to the design or architecture to meet functionalities required by the business.
- Collaborate with infrastructure networking and support teams to resolve any IT-related issues and ensure smooth deployment of projects.
- Coordinate with the cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and ensure progress as per the project plan.
- Conduct weekly status meetings with the team, monitor production support, and testing activities, and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Monitor and track performance, provide constructive feedback, and motivate team members to achieve individual and team targets.
Educational Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification will be considered an advantage
Experience
- 6-8 years of experience in the information technology industry
- 3-5 years of experience in project management
