Key accountabilities
- Work closely with the customers, providing accurate information by way of effective and timely communication
- Working with multiple suppliers in a stringent and responsive procurement process
- Negotiating the best deals for the organisation at every transaction
- Working closely with the factories in order to execute your contracts on time
- Manging the critical path to ensure a increasingly high success rate of Planned Cut Dates (PCD) and Planned End Dates (PED) is maintained
- Ensuring you stay up-to-date with industry best practices
- Analysing trading through the season against budget, identifying areas of opportunity or de-risk where necessary
- Ability to communicate clearly, work through multiple options and build evidence to justify key decisions
- Creating accurate forecast requirements for short and long term
- Scrutinising procurement requirements to ensure that budgets and sales targets are met, incl. monitoring and optimising our stocks
Knowledge & Skills
- Previous knowledge in ladieswear products would be a distinct advantage
- Excellent communicator in the spoken and written word, with accuracy and great attention to detail
- Strong listening, presentation and decision-making skills
- Commercial acumen and the ability to “decode” customers, to understand what unique approach works best with different customers and their personal style
- Super organised and methodical, with excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Highly experienced in MS Excel with solid knowledge of formulas, functions and the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of data
- Experience in using modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Highly capable with numerical tasks, incl. the ability to analyse data to gain deep insights and make key recommendations and proposals appropriate to business needs
- Knowledge of databases and report building, with computer literacy essential
- Diploma or a degree in higher education would be an added qualification
