Manager - Transmission Network Planning and Optimization
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall IPRAN transport network design and optimization of 2C/3G/4G network,
- Capacity Augmentation & Optimization of the IPRAN network to deliver the maximum capacity at the optimum cost/design.
- Recommend detailed technical solutions for identified improvement areas and prepare action plans for responsible teams to implement.
- Guide the MW planning team on the optimum connectivity plan avoiding capacity bottlenecks.
- Routine review with operation team for the improvement Of network availability.
- Assist network team on vendor related discussions and negotiations.
- Study network proposals on new initiatives on economic perspective and prepare financial analysis for Network Management deasion making.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years of work experience in Transmission Network Planning/Optimization of GSM/UMTS/LTE network and out of which 3+ years at a level of Senior Engineer/ Manager.
- A Bachelors Degree in Engineering with specialization on Telecommunication from a reputed University accredited by the Institute of Engineers in Sri Lanka (IESL). A Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Science (related to Telecommunication) will be a definite advantage.
- Hold Associate Membership/Charter of the Institute of Engineers in Sri Lanka (IESL).
- Possess sound knowledge Of transmission (Microwave & Data communication) principles/protocol, architecture coupled With experience with planning/optimization tools.
- Proficiency in user experience analysis & E2E network understanding.
- Understanding capabilities and limitations of different equipment/ systems from different vendors.
- Ability to quickly grasp changes in technology and apply them to present company context in planning and quality assurance
- Knowledge in preparing business cases, ROI calculations and other financial tools related to project economic feasibility assessment,
- Should be a team player with strong management skills and be able to simplify complex issues, modularize larger contexts to a simple form and explain technical scenarios.
