As the Manager - Raw Materials Sourcing (Spices), You will Plan and manage the company's local sourcing strategy (except Cinnamon products), do often research to understand the company's operations needs and requirements. Build relationships with vendors and key suppliers and negotiate pricing and control costs. Develop a yearly budget depending on sourcing needs.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that the quality Raw materials are in - housed on time when requested by the production and prepare sourcing plan.
- Analyzes the requirements of the raw materials including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
- Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs and assure that the raw material is delivered at the negotiated price and meets the quality.
- Develop and implement methods to evaluates proposals for the requested raw materials and investigates or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Ensure that the supplier’s payments are done on time and communicate price details with relevant departments.
- Ensure that the Annual, Monthly, and Weekly sourcing plans are communicated with the departments. And conducting meetings with relevant departments when required.
- Manages vendor relations, visiting company own farmer group leaders and supplier development with selected vendors, and identifying new vendor product portfolios.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
- Manages quality control, product rejection and resolves vendor disputes, and follow up for supplier’s lab and production results and confirmations. And ensure that the suppliers are included in the certification process.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by the management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a sourcing officer, Sourcing manager, or similar position in the relevant field.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification relevant to the industry will be an added advantage.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Any additional training or certification will be considered an added advantage.
