Legal Officer
Job Profile:
- Attending to title searchers at land registries and preparation of reports on Title
- Recast the Report on Title , memos , Mortgages and other Deeds drafted by the Panel Lawyers
- Preparation , vetting and execution of Mortgage Bonds, Transfer Deeds and necessary connected deeds
- Co-ordinate with the Panel Lawyers who provide services to the Bank's branches located in the North &
- Eastern provinces
- Ensuring registration procedures of Deeds, charges and lodgement of securities
- Providing legal advice/ opinions to Branches and the management
- Appearance in court if requested
- Liaising with Government and nongovernmental organizations
Candidate Prerequisites
- Should be an Attorney — at— law
- Minimum of 05 years experience in a commercial bank/ financial institution as an Attorney
- Should be a Notary public having the licence to practice in English
- Bachelors Degree in Law would be a distinct advantage
- Possess through knowledge in conveyance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tamil
- Speaking and reading in Sinhala would be an added advantage
- Should be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a computerized environment — at— law
