THE CHALLENGE

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Senior Manager, the selected candidate's responsibilities will be to maintain and support the IT global infrastructure within a global 24x7x365 Data Center environment.  This includes daily operations, support, system tuning, automation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation of designated systems along with disaster recovery planning and execution

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide 2nd level support for all reported IT Infrastructure issues, document problems and solutions as required for the global enterprise network. Assist and work with 1st level support.
  • Manage, maintain, and update configuration documentation and support ticketing system to track all items to resolution and to identify support trends.
  • Manage servers, including e-mail, files, print, terminal and application servers and their associated operating systems and software.
  • Fulfill service level agreements, with respect to availability, performance, capacity, and security.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will enhance business processes within a continuous improvement culture.  Review performance trends, and suggest future requirements to maintain acceptable performance levels and accommodate corporate growth.
  • Act as the situation manager during major incidents, in order to resolve unplanned events adversely affecting the environment, then review and implement preemptive solutions.
  • Escalate and route complex or unsolved problems to third party specialists and vendors
  • Perform audits and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Assist on projects or special initiatives as assigned.
  • Work in an Agile/Lean environment, where teamwork and ongoing improvement are valued;
  • Be available on-call for 7/24 support on a weekly rotation basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science / Information technology or equivalent, Higher Diploma from a recognized educational institute;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Professional vendor specific certifications such as: MCSA, MCSE. CCNA, CCNP, VCP or non-vendor specific certifications from CompTIA or SNIA is considered an asset
  • Analytical and creative problem solving approach;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
