Is this position made for you?

You will be responsible for leadership and expertise in the area of M&OH to the business leadership and advising and providing Guidance on specific public health, occupational health and healthcare related issues.

How would you create a better world?

  • Conducting analysis to identify disease patterns (outpatient, hospitalization, medical costs, and planning intervention programs.
  • Providing biannual feedback to the Head of Unilever M&OH and the Country HR on Key Performance Indicators (M&OH KPIs).
  • Health protection (working with Corporate SHE officer): Includes the various Unilever M&OH programs.
  • Advising on workplace health risk assessments and controls that will help strengthen health protection leading to prevention of workplace illnesses.
  • Diagnosing, confirming & managing work related illnesses.
  • Participate in employee return to work examinations (after illness/ injury). Working with LM’s in facilitating employee deployment back to their jobs.
  • Implementation of the Lamplighter program, deliver on Unilever Mental Wellbeing standards, advising on lifestyle related diseases, travel health, being an integral part of the site wellbeing team and providing support on wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinating provision / access to appropriate clinical care for all employees (outpatient, hospitalization, emergency).
  • Being the 1st point of contact for all medical emergencies (on-site & offsite) and ensuring that the site leadership team is kept informed on progress.
  • Activation of Covid-19/pandemic flu preparedness and crisis management plans with the other relevant teams involved.
  • Advising to HR on changing industry trends on the provision of medical & occupational health services to employees.
  • Providing relevant M&OH updates as required by the Head of Unilever M&OH for HRLT global reporting needs.

What’s important for you to have in this position?

  • Candidate should be a registered doctor in the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
  • Have minimum of 4-5 years’ of occupational medicine and industry experience (Eg: site/factory visits, corporate medical).
  • Possessing Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate should be able manage multiple stakeholder (local and regional).
  • Candidate should have exceptional communication skills and be able to have empathetic , compassionate conversations.
  • Candidate should be a strong assertive leader.
