The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
- Responsibility for the country strategy and implementation of Business Banking
- To lead the Business Banking Segment in the country in a profitable manner within the set parameters, policies and guideline
- To establish the BB Segment as a core contributor to the retail banking business in the country
Business
- Responsibility in managing and growing the BB business in the country with P&L and balance sheet responsibility
Sales
- To ensure smooth progress of Retail business meeting regular business targets allocated for BB segment. To embed appropriate strategy / management-approaches in order to sustain the regular / healthy growth of BB business
Service
- To help build and maintain a robust service culture in the value center and overall Retail banking business
Administration
- To ensure proper discipline, sales and service culture and risk awareness among the team members in the value centre to ensure proper security of office
General
- Actively participate in the Retail business meeting, policy/strategy formulation, people management.
- Help the value centre to keep the Audit & Risk Control Standards.
Processes
- Jointly responsible for developing and implementation of processes along with the country retail banking COO and operations and risk management functions
Information Technology - Drive the digital transformation across the segment
People and Talent
Responsible in onboarding, developing and maintaining talent (staff) to reach potential and achieve the units and bank objectives.
- Have open channels of communication with staff.
- Maintain high levels of motivation amongst staff and the team.
- Organize training for staff based on training gaps identified.
- Ensure effective implementation of Q12 and Values action plans.
Risk Management
- Work with risk and compliance functions ensuring the country BB operations are compliant with the risk appetite of the bank.
Governance
- Overall responsibility in ensuring that business is carried out adhering all internal and external regulations and processes
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the [BB LK Team] to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)

Our Ideal Candidate
- Experience in leading a corporate / business team.
- Experience in handling business banking, middle market and corporate clients.
- Minimum of 10 years banking experience at senior managerial capacity
- Must be a business graduate
- Sound leadership skills and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the local and international economy.
- Sound knowledge of credit policy, credit risk assessment relevant to sales.
- Sound knowledge of SME / Corporate products, system and operating regulations.
- Strong communication, negotiation and coaching skills.
- Knowledge on different motivational / incentive plans.
- Exposure in sales management.
