Country Chief Operating Officer
Responsibilities:
- Manages Operations with a focus on ensuring the business divisions and infrastructure functions in the country maintain an effective control environment.
- Supports Chief Country Officer in ensuring that the Corporate Governance policies and governance standards are adhered.
- Works with regional /global business/infrastructure partners to improve business and infrastructure operations in the country.
- Maintains key relationships with appropriate regulators and government bodies.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, internal guidelines of the bank along with the Chief Country Officer.
- Ensures that effective and adequate control mechanisms are in place towards the identification, assessment, and management of risks.
- Ensures regular involvement and information flow on the resolution of internal and external regulatory audit findings within the country.
- Supports and contributes to divisional, cross-divisional, and global initiatives.
- Proactively manages performance and people issues to ensure alignment with the Bank's goals, values, and code of conduct.
- Involved in hiring and release decisions for country/local heads of infrastructure line functions.
- Responsible for Bank Insurance, Lease Agreements and Facility Management.
People and Performance Management:
- Proposals and sign-off for hiring and release decisions of local Infrastructure Function staff.
- Contribution to year-end compensation process, retention, promotion, and disciplinary actions for local Infrastructure staff.
- Target setting, performance evaluation and talent ratings for Heads of the Infrastructure Functions
- Direction and leadership towards the achievement of DB’s Core Values and Beliefs, the promotion of aspired cultural change (supporting the CCO).
Educational Qualifications and Exposure
- A recognized academic and or professional qualifications in the disciplines of Finance or Management and a MBA from premier institute.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, international exposure will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial products, banking processes and local regulatory requirements.
