Chief Executive Officer
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all operations both at the center and in the outstation sites and programs. He/she carries overall responsibility for financial management, donor relations, contracts, marketing, and human resources management. Reporting status to the Board and supporting the work of the Board
Oversees the administrative operations of all projects, programs and services.
Oversees the development of the annual budget, capital purchasing and other funding proposals for approval by the Board.
Ensures the use of approved accounting and reporting formats and practices and that reports are presented according to the Board and funders' schedules.
Supports the Board of Directors through the development of the Board meeting agendas, follow up actions, policies, contracts, proposals for review by the Board.
Exercise spending authority within defined limits set by the Board.
Represent the organization with donors and at both internal and external functions and meetings as necessary, and act as the media spokesperson as directed by the Board.
Oversees the hiring, promotion, discipline, firing of all staff.
Ensures the annual performance review program is carried out for all staff and follow up actions taken, and that training needs are met.
Ensures Human resources policies and practices are in accordance with Sri Lanka labor law, and in current practice.
Ensures the maintenance of the organization's documents, both administrative and client-based, are kept in accordance with Sri Lanka law.
Ensures the maintenance and currency of the website, social media content, and other marketing materials and practices.
Develop innovative proposals for the on-going sustainability of the organization for the review and action by the Board.
Attend all Board meetings and planning sessions.
Masters level postgraduate training in management preferred, finance, social sciences, humanities or equivalent related discipline; minimum of 10 years work in disability rehabilitation, disability-related service delivery and/or disability inclusive development, OR equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
Minimum of 5 years in a management level position in a disability related service delivery organization.
Proven ability to manage large budgets and multiple donor funding portfolios.
Proven ability to manage staff of over 30 people.
Proven ability for multi-stakeholder liaison and collaboration
Proficient in spoken and written English (required), Sinhala (required), and Tamil (preferred).
References from past employers and staff will be required.
