We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Assistant Manager Taxation.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Timely and accurate computation / payment of both direct & indirect taxes applicable for HSBC Sri Lanka & Maldives and submission of tax related returns relevant to the bank.                   
  • Computation of monthly tax estimates and provision of information required for the group and local regulatory reporting.
  • Effectively liaise with both business lines and the Department of Inland Revenue to obtain Tax clearance certificates.                      
  • Preparation of current and deferred tax computations and tax related annual disclosures for the statutory audits of HSBC Sri Lanka & Maldives.                      
  • Assist business lines and functions by providing interpretations/guidance in terms of tax laws and regulations.      
  • Provide leadership to implement any new/amended tax regulations in HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives.                    
  • Guide business lines & functions as a tax risk steward and on a periodic basis, carry out reviews of internal processes/controls over operational taxes.                      
  • Drive projects to streamline processes and tax workings.                            

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A professional qualification in CIMA/ACCA/ICASL.                          
  • A professional qualification in tax will be an added advantage.                  
  • Previous experience in the field of tax.                
  • Proficient in Ms Office Packages particularly Excel & PowerPoint.                            
  • Be able to work independently and under pressure.
