Position Snapshot

• Place of work: Nestlé Lanka Kurunegala Factory
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent. A masters in same would be an added advantage
• Area: Product Development & Technology
• Language skills: Fluency in English and Sinhala
• Expected experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in the food industry/ FMCG environment, preferably with a product development and production background
   

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Product Development, the candidate will be responsible for the timely execution of the innovation and renovation of products in the assigned product groups. He/ she will be the key contact point between marketing and factory for new product developments and executions. He/ she will also provide technical assistance to factory, in collaboration with global Nestlé Research & Development network.

A day in the life of...

• New Product Development (NPD)
  • Drive innovation and renovation as per business plans: Work with brand groups to align industrial feasibility during the early stage of product development
  • Develop new recipes basis project briefs, complying with quality, regulatory and cost requirements
  • Define manufacturing formulas, process flow diagrams and manufacturing process conditions
  • Network with Nestlé Product Technology Centers (NPTCs) and product development teams of different countries to update them on current developments and facilitate best practices
• Process and process optimisation (factory & co-manufacturer):
  • Assess process performance, manage change process whenever the process control parameters are modified, optimise processes and contribute to cost improvement initiatives
• Operational support
  • Provide technical support to production personnel including training to build up product and process knowledge
     

What Will Make You Successful

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent. A masters in same would be an added advantage
• Expected experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in the food industry / FMCG environment, preferably with a product development and production background
• Knowledgeable in project management, preferably with prior exposure in driving projects
• Ability to translate product concepts to technically feasible and consumer-relevant product launches
• Self-starter who demonstrates total quality in their approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well organised, flexible, adaptable and works well in a team environment
